League Gripes

Because of my never-ending kindness, I will allow an UNLIMITED number of gripes per team, with the rule of one gripe per player, regardless if it is approved or denied.

Please, do not waste my time in meaningless attempts at making your players better. I am quite strict in my gripes.

Barbosa was the sixth man of the year this year averaging over 18 points, 4 assists and 1.2 steals in only 32 minutes with a win share over 8. Barbosa is a great scorer, he shot .476 from the field this year averaging 18 points. I think he deserves a B- inside. He averaged 4 assists a game off the bench and 1.2 steals a game. I think B handles and B defense are justified as well.

Raja Bell is one of the best defenders in the league. This year he is all defensive first team followed by all defense second team next year. He is also one of the best three point shooters this league has seen with his .406 career 3pt percentage being 20th in NBA history. He shot .413 from three land this year, and .800 from the line. And averaged 15 points as a starter and as a non option like he was IRL I doubt he would even get that with C+ A ratings.

.524 from the field this year, great player in the paint. Averages 2 blocks and 2 steals this year. With 5 defensive win shares, and has done that multiple times in his career. We all know him as one of the best defenders this league has ever seen. He is in the top 30 for defensive win shares ALL TIME!

Come on! I know how much you love Boris. Why is he getting raped?

He is one of the best all around players who can do it all. Maybe not at an elite level. But above average. He averages 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Shooting .538 from the field, .333 from the three and .683 from the line. He plays solid defense and can guard virtually any position. Has good size, strength and quickness. I think these ratings are right.

Garnett averaged 22.4 PPG on 47% shooting and was 87% on FTs which should get A- C or B+ C+. He also averaged 4.1 APG, which can be argued as C+ handles. Plus he grabbed 12.8 boards a game which easily isn't justified by B rebounding.

Stoud is one of the best power forwards at this time and maybe the best scoring PF. He averages over 20 points and over .500 from the field for the next 5 years. Including a ridiculous .575 from the field this year. He is also one of the best mid range shooting bigs and had a disgusting fade away post move and shoots .781 from the line. Garnett has C outside, I think Stoud deserves that too. Stoudemire has a plethora of post moves and is a good ball handling big, with decent passing ability. He has the quickness to take the ball to the hole a little Lamar odom esk but not quite that level. He averaged 9.6 rebounds this year too, and is a great rebounder. All this in only 32 minutes as well.

He averaged 18 ppt as a bench player. C+ A- wouldn't get him that man.

Ugh... his advanced stats say he's a pretty bad defender, but the 1st all defensive team thing is true... :/

Outside is fine, defense will be B+. That'll still give him really good defensive ratings, but the lack of steals and blocks will make it stay down.

Eh. When I did test sims, he did around 20 PPG as a #2 option, so I'm sure he's fine.

He couldn't manage 10 PPG in 31 MPG. Scoring is fine.

5 rebounds as a starting PF is pretty horrid.

I can do B- defense I guess. I believe the defense was a high C+ to begin with anyways.

And yeah, I do like Diaw. All-around players are awesome.

KG is fine on all accounts except for I'll raise his passing a little bit, but C+ isn't promised.
I'll make his rebounding B+ too.

As for Smith, I'll raise his rebounding.

Battier hasn't been all defensive first team and both of the. Never averaged a ton of steals and blocks... Kobe has A-... The list goes on.

Bruce Bowen at his age has A-

Battier plays a different position that is dominated by more defensive minded players. Marion, Kirilenko, Artest, and even Bowen I guess. Plus, he gets 1 SPG and just about 1 BPG, and even more some years, which goes a long way in the defensive rating.

Even Bowen, I almost left at B+, because I had to give him such high ratings, but I figured he deserved it, and there's no doubt in my mind that even at that age, he was a better defender than Bell.

Averaged 21 points per game in the 06-07 on a crazy efficient .538 FG%, I think that alone warrants an A- inside. Gasol, as we all know, possesses a silky smooth jumpshot for his height, length and position making him difficult to guard due to the array of shots he can hoist in the hoop. In the 06-07 season Gasol also averaged 9.8 rpg which I believe deserves at least a B rebounding if not B+ rebounding but I think I'd be pushing it with B+.

Just little upgrades for Miller. Miller isn't a great rebounder but he still did pull down on average 5.4 rpg which is C worthy. Miller was also one of the best 3 point shooters at this time as demonstrated by his 406 3 point % in which he shot 498 3 pointers that season signifying his 3 point making ability.

ZBo is fine.

Jack will have C+ inside, but the rest stay the same. He isn't a good defender at all, and 5 APG is too bad to be C+.

LMA is fine. He's a very good scorer, even with only B- C- scoring, but is not really much of a defender and 8 RPG is nothing special.

I'll raise Miller's scoring a bit, but any letter increases are not promised. Rebounding is fine though.

I agree about the rebounding, but as you can see, he only got that much in a very limited 10 games. Later, you see it drops to 4-5 range, which is worth a C-. Same thing with the steals.

Trevor Ariza should be on the magic roster I think

He had a 2 year contract, traded during it, went to FA, and resigned with Magic. It's basically impossible to get the FA 100% for retro leagues, but I'm sure he should be there, or suspect it at least, so he will stay.
